Brochure Layout Sketches

The objective of these sketches is to start figuring out what possible layouts could be for the brochure part of the project. We chose one of the two templates and sketched out the ways we could fill it in with the content. For both of these sketches I chose the icicle title word cluster and the template with the speakers along the top and the schedule in the bottom four sections.

Icicle Concept Layout Sketch

For this sketch, I put the title word cluster, the date, and the location in the same section, and the description in the other section. I also put the names of the speakers in the speaker section and included their lectures in the schedule. I chose to continue to include the lectures in the schedule as I progressed in this project. I used my icicle idea from previous sketches in this layout, if I wanted to go back to that idea.

Breaking Ice Concept Layout Sketch

For this sketch, I decided to just put the title word cluster in one section and everything else in the other section. Moving forward in this project, I decided to layout this part of my brochure in this way. I also included the lecture descriptions in the speaker section in this sketch. The breaking ice imagery all around the layout reflects my favourite of the digital drafts I created, so I ended up continuing to use this imagery in the brochure.
